I have loved everything about fibers since way back when. My dear grandma taught me to knit and I created handwoven objects for 35 years before discovering felt. I love felt!, the process, the medium, the versatility and creations called FELT.
Animal fleece is an incredible living thing. Under a microscope each wool fiber looks like a long cylinder with scales on it. The springy string wants to "tangle" with other strings. Once they are intertwined and shrunk...voila...felt.
Nature provides endless opportunities to observe shape, texture, movement, color. I know an inspired day begins when I wake with a budding design in my head. Allowing the impression to build and emerge, persuading the medium into unique form, is kindly fulfilling.
